CLAP STUDIO GUIDELINES

What to Wear

Art making is a lot of fun... and a lot of messy! So we suggest students come dressed in comfortable clothing they don’t mind getting a little paint on - since accidents do happen. We do provide aprons, and even a personalized apron for each student in full-term programs, but it’s best to come prepared.

Class Times

At CLAP Studio, we make sure all our classes start and finish at the scheduled times. Our classrooms open 10 minutes before the start of each class, so please show up a bit early to get set up and ready to go!

Snacks

Snacks and art-making aren’t always the best mix. For that reason, we don’t recommend bringing snacks to class. If you feel you must bring something to munch on, please make sure it’s Nut Free.

Studio Closures

If by chance we have to cancel a class due to severe or extreme weather conditions, we will make sure to notify students and parents by phone. In such an event, we will also post it on CLAP’s website, our Facebook page, Twitter feed and Instagram.

Art Supplies

Unless we specify, all art supplies are included in the full-term programs and workshops. When supplies are not included for a class or workshop, we will provide a clear list of things to bring. Students can also purchase art supplies at CLAP Studio!

Paperless Environment

At CLAP Studio, we LOVE art, and we also LOVE the environment! Because of that, we want to go as paperless as possible. So, to register for a class, or to purchase art supplies, please use our website: www.clapstudio.ca

CLAP STUDIO POLICIES

Registration & Payments

Registration takes place on our website www.clapstudio.ca and is on a first-come first-serve basis. Of course, if you have any questions, you can always give us a call at 647-350-8822, or email us at info@clapstudio.ca. Full payment is required upon registration and is non- transferable. HST is not included and will be added to all course fees. For students who join a class late, the class fees will be prorated.

Transfers

There is a $45 administration fee for any transfers, credit requests or refunds. Transfers are

not allowed after the second class of any full-term program.

Missed Classes

Since we take great care in planning and building our courses, there are no make-up classes for any missed class. We are also unable to offer a discount, refund or credit for classes not

attended. That said, at CLAP Studio we want to ensure all projects are completed and will do our very best to help each student catch up during the next class. If a student misses two consecutive classes or more, it’s important to be aware that they may not be able to catch up and leave the course with a finished work of art.

Refund & Cancellation - Full-Term Programs

At CLAP Studio, we believe art-making should be fun AND personal! That means, if you discover at the end of the first or even second class of a full-term program, that it’s not right you, we offer the student the option to retain half of the program fee as a credit for future programs or workshops. However, if we don’t hear from you after the second class, we are not able to provide a refund or credit.

If you decide to cancel a full-term program prior to the start of the first class, you will be fully refunded minus a $45 administration fee.

Occasionally, CLAP Studio may need to cancel a full-term program due to low enrolment. If that happens, all the students will be notified in advance and FULL refunds will be issued.

Refund & Cancellation – Workshops and Camps

Since a Workshop and camp is one-off event, we need to have three or more business days notice of cancellation in order to provide a full refund, minus a $45 administration fee. If we receive notice less than 3 business days before the start of the workshop, only half the workshop tuition fee can be refunded or credited. Once a workshop or camp has begun, there will be no refunds or credits issued.

It’s rare, but sometimes CLAP Studio may need to cancel a workshop due to low enrolment. If that happens, all the students will be notified in advance and FULL refunds will be issued.

Safe & Timely Pick Up & Drop Off

At CLAP Studio we like to keep things running on time. That means it’s important for parents to make sure students are not only dropped off, but picked up on time as well. Because we believe safety is key, if a parent is not available to pick up their child, they must provide information for authorized alternate personnel at the time of registration. Students under the age of 12 must be picked up by their parents or the authorized alternate personnel.

Publicity Permission

Upon registration, you’ll be asked if you give your permission to have yourself and/or your child photographed or video taped during a class. If you say ‘Yes’, (and we hope you will) CLAP Studio reserves the right to use your smiling face for marketing and promotion purposes only.

Maintaining A Respectful Environment

CLAP Studio is all about creating a respectful, positive and fun environment for making art!

Our expectations are that all students and parents will show respect to each other and to our instructors. If for some reason we feel that this expectation is not being met, CLAP Studio reserves the right to cancel or modify existing enrolments at any time. If this happens, and issues of a student’s or parent’s behaviour cannot be resolved, a refund will not be issued to the student who is asked to leave the program.

Privacy

Privacy is important, and we take that seriously. At CLAP Studio all personal information provided that is necessary to complete registration and/or purchase art supplies, will only be used to process the requested purchase.
